About the Speaker:

Dr. Peck served as Dean of Washington University School of Medicine, Executive Vice Chancellor for Medical Affairs and President Washington University Medical Center from 1989 to 2003. In 2003 he was named Director, Center for Health Policy and in 2015 became a Co-Director of the Center for Health Economics and Policy. He is the Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Washington University.

Prior to his deanship, he was an international leader in the field of osteoporosis, president (founding) of the National Osteoporosis Foundation and of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. His current research focuses on policies related to the organization, financing and delivery of health care.

He chaired the Association of American Medical Colleges, the FDA Advisory Committee on Metabolic Drugs, and was vice chair of Research!America. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Peck’s service and leadership has extended to many national and international conferences, committees and organizations. Currently, he is the founding Chair of the Centene Health Policy Advisory Council, Chair of the Council for Interpreta and a board member of H.D. Smith. He has received numerous awards, including an Honorary Degree of Science from the University of Rochester.
