Learning Objectives:
The growing trend of litigation regarding patient balances with and without a managed care agreements.
Across the country providers are experiencing push-back from patients (sometimes with the help of their health plans) regarding payment of account balances requiring providers to re-evaluate their charging methodologies.
This session will cover the spate of lawsuits that are on file in Colorado and the specific class action lawsuits brought by patients. Issues to be addressed are Plan provisions and their application including limitations on payment, 501r and state law concerns for the insured and under insured. What can be done to help providers reevaluate their managed care and single case agreements?
